The HypotheekKijker Story

HypotheekKijker is a hobby project for first-time buyers in the Netherlands. No personal data is collected and no account is required — just the tools and knowledge I wish I had when I bought my first home.

When I started looking for a home, I was frustrated by the lack of transparent, long-term financial visualisations and structured guidance. So, I created this free toolkit to help myself navigate the process — and I hope it helps you too.

Why I built this website

Beyond Basic Math

Standard bank tools do not provide enough insights. I wanted to see how the Dutch tax benefits (HRA) and extra repayments actually affect the true long-term cost.

Comprehensive Knowledge

I needed more than just a calculator. I wanted to understand the whole process — from viewings and bidding to moving day — all in one place.

Built for Clarity

No ads, no lead generation, no hidden agendas. Just a personal project to help make one of the biggest financial decisions clearer.
